    Yes, there are required classes for incoming freshman at Wellesley.  For example, all freshman are required to take an expository writing course. 

    For the writing course, there are various different topics to choose from.  For example, you can take a course where you write about Shakespeare's plays, or you can choose to take a course that focuses on Jane Austen's works.  There are also writing courses with topics such as Art History or Film.  Regardless of what your interest may be, there should be a writing course that appeals to you.
