It's really up to the you. Personally, in my first year I only spent one weekend where I didn't get off campus at all. Boston is such a fun city for a college student and it is very accessible from Wellesley. A regular weekend for me might be going into Boston Friday night for dinner with friends from Boston College (and maybe a party) a possible movie or museum on Saturday day or Sunday day with friends from school or even just a walk...

The classes are very challenging. Sometimes I feel like my head is going to explode and the teachers expect too much of me. Then, I remember the education I'm getting is worth it and coming out on the other end of finals you know why you were worked so hard. Although I wouldn't say that Wellesley has a reputation as a party school, it is 10 miles outside of Boston where Wellesley women can take their pick of other schools (such as Harvard, MIT, Boston College, Boston University, Northeaster, etc.) and then come back to quiet, clean Wellesley when they are done. I can't speak with much knowledge about other programs, but the chemistry program is fabulous. You gain an incredible skill set in the laboratories, and there are ample research opportunities available. We also have really amazing economics and political science departments.
