Are students very social? Is there an active social scene open to students? Does the school have a reputation as a party school? Posted by enotes on Aug 28, 2008. |

Although I wouldn't say that Wellesley has a reputation as a party school, it is 10 miles outside of Boston where Wellesley women can take their pick of other schools (such as Harvard, MIT, Boston College, Boston University, Northeaster, etc.) and then come back to quiet, clean Wellesley when they are done. The transportation is fairly convenient and inexpensive to do this. The social scene is what you make it. If you want to be social and go into Boston all weekend or go to Olin College or Babson, you can. If you choose to stay at school all weekend, you won't be alone.
