What is the environment like off-campus? Do students venture off-campus frequently?

It's really up to the you.  Personally, in my first year I only spent one weekend where I didn't get off campus at all. Boston is such a fun city for a college student and it is very accessible from Wellesley.  A regular weekend for me might be going into Boston Friday night for dinner with friends from Boston College (and maybe a party) a possible movie or museum on Saturday day or Sunday day with friends from school or even just a walk around Boston Commons.  Maybe shopping?  There are so many opportunities.  You can also go into Boston and catch a train/bus to NYC, Portland, ME, etc. for a weekend trip.
