Answers:

  1. One of the main stylistic devices is "Theatre of the Absurd". Major influences on this style include Ionescu, Sartre, and Camus.

Because Beckett was influenced by Camus and Sarte, this play is existential in nature, which means that the world is subjective. Each human must make meaning for him/herself in a chaotic world. This is why no meaningful answers arise within the play. Didi and Gogo are waiting for Godot to arive, even though they do not know why they are waiting or if he will come.
