    Tiny Fran is a very bitter, demanding, and narcissistic person and she is not well liked.  Tiny Fran orders Ruby around without any concern for her well being and she blames Ruby for everything that makes her mad or interferes with her plans. Tiny Fran mistreats her mother and is even physically violent with her.  

    Tiny Fran marries Burr because she is pregnant and her father, Lonnie Hoover, wants her to be married when she gives birth so she doesn't bring shame to the family.  He is very concerned about the opinions of the community.

    June wishes that Ruby was her mother instead of Tiny Fran.  Ruby treats June like a daughter, teaching her to cook and make clothes.
