Waking Up in Reno ★½ 2002 (R) Redneck road pic where romance goes awry for two couples on the way to a monster truck show in Nevada. Ringleader is Little Rock car dealer Lonnie Earl (Thornton), who fools around on his wife Darlene (Richardson) with the aptly named Candy (Theron) under the nose of his best friend and Candy's husband Roy (Swayze). Candy, who desperately wants to get pregnant, is always fooling around in the back seat with Roy while Lonnie enters a steak eating contest. Cruz appears as a hooker Roy meets in a sleazy hotel bar. Flimsy setup gives way to the disappointing payoff, and you soon realize its all over but the shouting. 100m/C VHS, DVD.
