The Raven (1963) The Raven

The Raven ★★★ 1963 This could-have-been monumental teaming of horror greats Karloff, Lorre, and Price is more of a satire than a true horror film. One of the more enjoyable of the Corman/Poe adaptations, the movie takes only the title of the poem. As for the story line: Price and Karloff play two rival sorcerers who battle for supremacy, with Lorre as the unfortunate associate turned into the bird of the title. 86m/C VHS. Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre, Jack Nicholson, Hazel Court, Olive Sturgess; Director: Roger Corman; Writer: Richard Matheson; Writer: Floyd Crosby; Cameo: Les Baxter.
