Quest for Camelot (1998) Quest for Camelot

Quest for Camelot ★★½ 1998 (G) Camelot's future lies in the hands of heroine Kayley, who sees an opportunity to win a spot at King Arthur's roundtable when Excalibur is stolen by evil knight Ruber (Oldman). On her quest to recover the sword, she meets blind hermit Garrett and two-headed dragon Devon and Cornwall (Idle and Rickles). With an all-star cast, this first full-length animated feature from Warner Bros. wants to be a contender for the Disney animation crown, but can't quite overcome its familar story, one-dimensional villain, and forgettable songs. However, Kayley and Garrett are strong, non-stereotypical characters that children and adults will welcome. Based on the children's novel "The King's Damosel" by Vera Chapman. 85m/C VHS, DVD. Director: Frederick Du Chan; Writer: Kirk De Micco, William Schifrin, David Seidler; Cameo: Patrick Doyle; V: Jessalyn Gilsig, Cary Elwes, Gary Oldman, Eric Idle, Don Rickles, Jane Seymour, Pierce Brosnan, Gabriel Byrne, Bronson Pinchot, Jaleel White, John Gielgud. Golden Globes '99: Song ("The Prayer").
