The Quarry ★★ 1998 A nameless fugitive (Lynch) accepts a ride from a minister, whom he accidentally kills. He takes over the man's identity and possessions and journeys to the minister's new posting in a nearby isolated South African town. When his goods are in turn stolen by a poor young black man, Valentine, the town's racist white police chief not only arrests Valentine for the theft but links him to the murder when the minister's body is discovered.
