Paint Your Wagon (1969) Paint Your Wagon

Paint Your Wagon ★★½ 1969 (PG) Big-budget western musical-comedy about a gold mining boom town, and two prospectors sharing the same Mormon wife complete with a classic Lerner and Lowe score. Marvin chews up the sagebrush and Eastwood attempts to sing, although Seberg was mercifully dubbed. Overlong, with patches of interest, pretty songs, and plenty of panoramic scenery. Adapted from the L & L play. ♫I Talk to the Trees; I Still See Elisa; I'm on My Way; Hand Me Down That Can o' Beans; Whoop-Ti-Ay; They Call the Wind Maria; There's a Coach Comin' In; Wandrin' Star; Best Things. 164m/C VHS, DVD, Wide. Lee Marvin, Clint Eastwood, Jean Seberg, Harve Presnell; Director: Joshua Logan; Writer: Paddy Chayefsky; Cameo: Frederick Loewe, Andre Previn, Alan Jay Lerner.
