Monster (2003) Monster

Monster ★★★ 2003 (R) Charlize Theron plays Aileen Wuornos, the first woman serial killer executed in the U.S., who murdered seven men on the highways of Florida in the 1980s. Focuses on the love affair between Selby Wall (Ricci) and Wuornos. While the film itself has some flaws, not the least of which is portraying Wournos as a victim whose motive was self-defense, Theron's complete transformation for and commitment to the role is fascinating to watch. Her performance alone is worth the rental. 111m/C DVD.
