Miss Congeniality ★★ 2000 (PG-13) Tough FBI agent Gracie Hart (Bullock) must go undercover at the Miss USA Pageant after the event is threatened by terrorists. Eric (Bratt) is a helpful fellow agent (and potential beau) while down-onhis-luck consultant Victor Melling (Caine) is hired to girly-up Gracie and make her pageant material. Predictable comedy shows flashes of witty satire but lives up to its name by easing up on intended targets at the moment of truth. Bullock, as always, is game and both Bergen as a former beauty queen turned pageant manager and Shatner as unctuous pageant host add a spark to the proceedings. 111m/C VHS, DVD, Wide.
