Lethal Weapon 4 (1998) Lethal Weapon 4

Lethal Weapon 4 ★★½ 1998 (R) It's old home week as Gibson, Glover, Pesci, and Russo all reunite for one more escapade, six years after 1992's "Lethal Weapon 3." Rock joins the veterans as junior detective Lee Butters, who has some unexpected ties to Murtaugh. They're investigating Asian crimelord Wah Sing Ku (Chinese action star Li) who's involved in smuggling and counterfeiting and has no problem with violence, including kicking the bejeezus out of Riggs on more than one occasion. Russo had to do her action sequences with a prosthetic belly since her character, Lorna Cole, and Riggs are about to become parents. It's the same old-same old but it's still a good time. 125m/C VHS, DVD, Wide. Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Joe Pesci, Rene Russo, Chris Rock, Jet Li, Steve Kahan, Darlene Love, Mary Ellen Trainor, Jack Kehler, Damon Hines, Traci Wolfe, Richard Libertini, Richard Riehle; Director: Richard Donner; Writer: Channing Gibson; Writer: Andrzej Bartkowiak; Cameo: Michael Kamen, Eric Clapton, David Sanborn.
