The holiday season is proving to be particularly tiresome for three sisters: nightclub singer Louba (Azema) who's pregnant with her married lover's child; homemaker Sonia (Beart) whose husband is leaving her for a younger woman; and career-driven Milla (Gainsbourg) who becomes intrigued by melancholy Joseph (Thompson, the director's son). Family crises start with the funeral of the sisters' stepfather, leading to a reunion between their parents who haven't spoken in 25 years, and get more complicated from there.
