The Jack Bull ★★½ 1999 (R) Cusack's father adapted a 19th-century German novel, "Michael Kohlhaas" by Heinrich Von Kleist, into a 19th-century American western, set in Wyoming. Myrl Redding (Cusack) is a peaceful horse trader who demands justice when wealthy landowner Henry Ballard (Jones) beats two of Redding's horses and their Indian caretaker. Since Ballard has the local law in his pocket, Redding gets no satisfaction. Becoming obsessed, he decides to form a vigilante posse to get Ballard to pay for his actions. 120m/C VHS, DVD.
