Harrison's Flowers (2002) Harrison's Flowers

Harrison's Flowers ★★ 2002 (R) Sometimes goopy, sometimes harrowing story of a naive woman searching for her missing husband. Newsweek photojournalist Harrison Lloyd (Strathairn) promises wife Sarah (MacDowell) that his '91 assignment to Yugoslavia (at the beginning of the Balkan conflict) will be his last. Maybe in more ways than one, since he's reported missing, which Sarah doesn't believe. So she's takes off for Croatia and promptly gets a hard lesson in the confusion of war. Fellow correspondents Kyle (Brody), Stevenson (Gleeson), and Yeager (Koteas) agree to help Sarah even though they think she's nuts. Watch the guys, particularly Brody, since all MacDowell has to do is alternate between noble, frightened, and stubborn. 122m/C VHS, DVD.
