Great Expectations ★★½ 1999 British TV version of the Dickens story about the expectations of Pip (Gruffudd). As a boy, he helps escaped convict Magwitch (Hill), a kindness that will change the course of Pip's life, though he doesn't realize it. Also a continuing part of his life is haughty beauty, Estella (Waddell), who has been raised by the eccentric Miss Havisham (Rampling) to wreak havoc on the male gender.
