Femme Fatale ★★½ 2002 (R) DePalma's latest exercise in leering style over substance works because he does stunning, sparkling visuals so well, and because he uses Rebecca Romijn-Stamos to show them off. She's Laure, a sleek jewel thief who, when we first see her, is seducing the diamond-encrusted bra off a supermodel at Cannes. Convoluted heist-doublecross-mistaken-identity plot keeps the surprises coming often enough that you don't have much time to consider their plausibility as Laure goes from thief to grieving widow to ambassador's wife and back, while toying with paparazzo Banderas. 112m/C VHS, DVD.
