Facing Windows ★★½ La Finestra di Fronte 2003 (R) Unhappy Giovanna (Mezzogiorno) is a working wife and mother with an oblivious husband, Filippo (Nigro), and a dull job in a chicken factory. Her only sliver of excitement is her handsome neighbor, Lorenzo (Bova), whom she ogles from her kitchen window (as he watches back). Things change when Filippo brings home a confused elderly gentleman who thinks his name is Davide (Girotti). Giovanna reluctantly allows the stranger to stay the night after spotting a concentration camp number tattooed on his arm. In a round about way, this leads to Giovanna getting involved with Lorenzo, learning about Davide's lost love, and even satisfying her secret dream of becoming a pastry chef. Poignant if undemanding slice of life drama. Girotti's last role; Italian with subtitles. 106m/C DVD.
