Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights (1992) Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights

Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights ★★½ Wuthering Heights 1992 (PG) Miscast version of the tragic tale of doomed lovers Cathy (Binoche) and Heathcliff (Fiennes). While Fiennes may seem too refined for the role, he manages to be both brooding and brutal. However, the beautiful Binoche can't successfully supress her French accent enough to pass for a heedless Yorkshire lass. Good supporting cast, with O'Connor posing as writer/narrator Bronte. 107m/C VHS. GB Ralph Fiennes, Juliette Binoche, Janet McTeer, Sophie Ward, Simon Shepherd, Jeremy Northam, Jason Riddington, Jonathan Firth, Paul Geoffrey, Sinead O'Connor; Director: Peter Kosminsky; Writer: Anne Devlin; Writer: Mike Southon; Cameo: Ryuichi Sakamoto.
