Curly Sue (1991) Curly Sue

Curly Sue ★★ 1991 (PG) Adorable, homeless waif Porter and her scheming, adoptive father Belushi plot to rip off single, career-minded female attorney Lynch in order to take in some extra cash. Trouble is, all three heartstrings are tugged, and the trio develop a warm, caring relationship. A throwback to the Depression era's Shirley Temple formula films met with mixed reviews. Undiscriminating younger audiences should have a good time, though. 102m/C VHS, 8mm. James Belushi, Kelly Lynch, Alison Porter, John Getz, Fred Dalton Thompson; Director: John Hughes; Writer: John Hughes; Cameo: Georges Delerue.
