Crossfire Trail (2001) Crossfire Trail

Crossfire Trail ★★★ 2001 Cowboy Rafe Covington (Selleck) promises his dying friend that he will look out for the man's wife, Ann (Madsen), and their Wyoming spread. Rafe heads to town with his sidekicks (Brimley, O'Hara, Kane) and discovers the widow is already being courted by ruthless Bruce Barkow (Harmon), who wants the ranch since there's oil on the land. Naturally, Barkow has a hired gun (Johnson) and the sheriff (Corbin) in his pocket. Accomplished cast, straight forward direction, lush scenery (it's Calgary, Alberta), and a little humor. Based on Louis L'Amour's 1954 novel. 100m/C VHS, DVD, Wide. Tom Selleck, Virginia Madsen, Mark Harmon, Wilford Brimley, David O'Hara, Christian Kane, Barry Corbin, Brad Johnson, William Sanderson, Joanna Miles, Ken Pogue, Rex Linn; Director: Simon Wincer; Writer: Charles Robert Carner; Writer: David Eggby; Cameo: Eric Colvin.
