Breakfast of Champions (1998) Breakfast of Champions

Breakfast of Champions ★½ 1998 (R) Messy adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's 1973 satire on American greed and commercialism. Relentlessly upbeat salesman Dwayne Hoover (Willis) runs the most successful car dealership in middle America's Midland City. A leading citizen, who stars in his own garish TV commercials, Dwayne has alienated his tube-addicted wife, Celia (Hershey), and his aspiring lounge singer son, Bunny (Haas). Dwayne also thinks he's going nuts and his one hope for salvation lies with Kilgore Trout (Finney), an eccentric hack sci fi writer/philosopher. Oh yeah, and Nolte is around as Dwayne's sales manager Harry, who likes to wear women's lacy lingerie beneath his suits. 110m/C VHS, DVD, Wide.
