Baby, the Rain Must Fall (1964) Baby, the Rain Must Fall

Baby, the Rain Must Fall ★★ 1964 A rockabilly singer, paroled from prison after serving time for a knifing, returns home to his wife and daughter, but his outbursts of violence make the reunion difficult. Unsentimental with realistic performances, but script is weak (although written by Foote, based on his play, "The Traveling Lady"). Theme song was a Top 40 hit. 100m/B VHS. Steve McQueen, Lee Remick, Don Murray; Director: Robert Mulligan; Writer: Horton Foote; Writer: Ernest Laszlo; Cameo: Elmer Bernstein.
