The Baby Maker (1970) The Baby Maker

The Baby Maker ★★ 1970 (R) A couple who cannot have children because the wife is sterile decides to hire a woman to have a child for them. However, the relationship between the husband and the surrogate progresses beyond what either of them wanted. Hershey stars as the free-love surrogate mama (just before she underwent the supreme 60s transformation into Barbara Seagull) and Bridges makes his directorial debut. Flick is interesting as a combo critique/exploitation of those wild and groovy 1960s. 109m/C VHS. Barbara Hershey, Collin Wilcox-Paxton, Sam Groom, Scott Glenn, Jeannie Berlin; Director: James Bridges; Writer: James Bridges.
