    One of Bradbury's comments is that technology should not be a substitute for emotional connection. At the time of writing, televisions were just becoming popular, and some feared that television would keep people from experiencing life.

    It became a "tour-de-force" in American lives and habits during the early 1950s when television was introduced. Television viewers could see things from all around the world in many different places that they would never be able to experience or see for themselves for a lifetime.

    Bradbury said that this tele-technology should not be used as a substitute for greater connection with other people or as an emotional platform to express their views and concerns. Some people even feared that television would robbed people the will to experience and feel life at their doorsteps.
