There are two required classes for incoming freshmen - CORE and Healthy Lifestyles.
CORE is required for freshmen or transfer students, and they must take two semesters. It is an English class with subtopics of Theology and Philosophy. Generally, the class entails reading several books, viewing several movies, and writings papers. There are also group discussions almost every day. The class counts for 5 credits.
Healthy Lifestyles is a gym and health class. The gym component takes place once a week, and requires basic physical testing, such as BMI, mile-run, and pushup situp tests. The health component is essentially tests that cover material from the textbook. There is no lecture, only a 50 minute meeting for the gym portion. The tests may be given online or in class. It counts for 1 credit and lasts 7 weeks, either at the beginning or end of either Fall or Spring semester.
