What are the political and social leanings of most students and faculty? Is it easy to express opposing views?

Although Valparaiso University generally leans towards the conservative side, it is possible to find professors and students of any political persuasion. There campus supports College Republicans and College Democrats, has a Black Student Organization, and many other organizations for various social or political temperaments. It is very easy to express opposing views in a broad sense, although Christ College students often complain about bias within the setting, whether it be very liberal professors/subjects, or very conservative ones. The school is truly about 50/50 in terms of conservative and liberal, as many students come from Chicago and Indianapolis, and many come from suburban Indiana, Illinois, or Michigan. This makes the social and political views pretty well balanced, so nobody really has any problems feeling comfortable.
