Yes, there are more than adequate health services and counseling that are available to students. All students have to have certain immunizations if you live in University Housing, and if a student has not already had any of the required ones they can get them at "University Health Services" for a very discounted price from that of which you would normally pay at your normal physician. There are some classes that are required for freshmen, but it depends what school you are in and if you're in the main school (letters and science). Then it also depends if you're going for a bachelor of arts or a bachelor of science degree. It also depends on what you test out of through placement tests. If you don't test out of English and Math, you are required to take both, but a lot of people test out of them.
