The two most common career paths for graduates are business and engineering most likely because these are both so diverse. There are so many different types of business paths(accounting, marketing, etc.) and engineering paths (computer engineering, chemical engineering, etc.). One caveat though; these are both HIGHLY competitive programs.

Classes can range from small to filled-stadium size. At one point, my smallest class was ten people and my largest five hundred. Most profs I've had have made every effort to be accessible when necessary. They do ask, however, to use our TA first, and then come to them if the TA cannot help. E-mail seems to be the way they prefer to communicate. Overall, I believe almost every class at the UW has the potential to be difficult. If you apply...

I like the fact that the UW is a highly sought-after degree because employers know that first, it is difficult to be accepted, and second, that I am surrounded by others as motivated as myself. Most of all, I dislike that the standards to become a TA are very low. Almost any graduate can be a TA and that leads to bad TAs; most of the time because their accent is so thick you can't understand them.

Housing can be difficult to get on-campus if you wait too long to apply. Normally on-campus housing is easier to get second and third quarter. By then people who do not like it have moved off-campus. Off-campus the neighborhood is filled with apartments and houses for students. I believe the majority of students can usually find housing right for them easily.

I would not say that the UW is a party school. You can make it a party school by being involved in the Greek system. You can do this by joining or just partying with them every weekend. I would say that the vibe of the students is an academic one. Partying is not necessarily the first thing on everyone's mind, but I do think we all get out every now and then. There is so much to do in the area and downtown that everyone has a place to have...

By far a degree in business or medicine is what attracts most of UW's students at first. The difficulty of being accepted into these schools is what leads the majority of these people to other areas of study. UW is a top-notch school so any degree from here is difficult to acheive, but well worth it.

Because of the sheer number of students at UW, housing is not available for all students, so freshmen are not required to live on campus. I recommend living in dorms for at least one year because you learn things like patience and how to live with someone. You would be amazed at how many things roommate(s) teach you in just the first week of living together. At the UW roommates are match based on a very short questionnaire. It asks if you...

The wonderful thing about attending such a large school is you have options. UW allows you to decide which classes you want to take to fulfill requirements for most degrees. For example, most degrees require some form of Composition class. There are many composition classes to choose from, so usually each person can find at least one class that they find interesting or at least tolerable. You can choose which classes you want to take to...
