What are classes like? Are professors accessible? Are classes challenging?

Classes can range from small to filled-stadium size. At one point, my smallest class was ten people and my largest five hundred. Most profs I've had have made every effort to be accessible when necessary. They do ask, however, to use our TA first, and then come to them if the TA cannot help. E-mail seems to be the way they prefer to communicate. Overall, I believe almost every class at the UW has the potential to be difficult. If you apply yourself as you should, it will be challenging, but very much worth it in the end.
