What are classes like? Are professors accessible? Are classes challenging?

The difficulty of the class will depend on which class you're enrolled in. I'm currently taking 13 credit hours (love the load) and have 5 classes. So far, my political science 102 class has been the most demanding. One thing that's important to note is that there are far fewer grades in college than there are in high school; for instance, my political science grade consists of 3 written papers and 2 exams: that's it. This means that each of those assignments counts for 15% of my total grade. In English 102, there are daily grades as well as papers to write, but our teacher told us we'll probably not have an exam (the difficulty of the class really depends on the teacher...you can go to http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/SelectTeacher.jsp?sid=1385 to find out which teachers are well-liked by their students). My roomate is enrolled in Chemistry and Math for the Life Sciences, and therefore she has a more difficult time because of her more intensive work schedule.

Also, all professors are required to have "office hours" two days a week for an hour at a time. During this time, you can walk into their designated location and get help with anything you need, or just go to talk to them. Many professors also encourage you  to make an appointment with them if you need extra help. A few of my professors have even given the students their home phone numbers--basically, the teachers here are very willing to help!
