USF Slang

Know the slang, know the school. The following is a list of things you really need to know before coming to USF. The more of these words you know, the better off you'll be.

The Basement

The basement of the Marshall Center; students usually refer to the MC Games Room as the Basement.

The Black Hole

The bottom floor of the Marshall Center, where the SGCS Computer Lab is located.

Bullsit

Student Government meetings that reach out to students.

CAB

Campus Activities Board.

Cooper

Cooper Hall.

Crossroads

The Fresh Food Company used to be called this, and the name has stuck with second-year on-campus residents.

Fish Tank Room

The study lounge in the Marshall Center with the fish tanks in it.

GDI

“Goshdarn Independents,” means any student who is not affiliated with a Greek organization.

The Hill

Crescent Hill.

The MC

The Marshall Center, this is USF's student center.

MOTL

Movies on the Lawn.

ORC

Outdoor
Recreation Center.

Patio

The Patio in front of the Marshall Center.

The Quad Set

The four sets of three stairs that go down a hill.

RA

Resident Assistant.

Rec Center

The Campus Recreation Center.

Resis

Resident students.

Stampede

Comedy show held during homecoming week.

Superbull

Homecoming.

The Village

Greek housing.
