Students are proud of UR and proud to call themselves Spiders. They show off that school spirit at basketball games and baseball games but tend to skip the football games because the team is so miserable. The student body is solid in its support of most athletic teams, and because it is quite homogeneous, everyone gets along well. You will always see people wearing Richmond sweatshirts and showing off their Spider Pride. The Richmond Rowdies are a group of students that attend every home basketball game dressed up and with faces painted to cheer for the Spiders and harass the opposition. I think that mostly everyone realizes how lucky they are to be at UR, and they show their school spirit as often as possible.
