Whether it is in a bar or in a bank, if someone yells “Boomer,” everyone in the immediate vicinity yells back “Sooner.” This is not only the case on campus, but basically anywhere there are more than two OU fans. Oklahoma athletics boasts a tradition that few schools can rival. Over the years, the Sooners have captured 24 national championships, including eight in football, seven in wrestling, five in men's gymnastics, two in baseball, one in men's golf and one in softball. On game days, a sea of crimson rolls through OU's home arenas, and all Sooner fans wear crimson and cream to show the rest of the country what Sooner pride is all about.
