Tips to Succeed at UNC

  • Pick classes that interest you.

  • Talk to upperclassmen about what professors to take and which ones to avoid.

  • Go to class—even the lectures.

  • Keep up with your homework—procrastinating is the worst thing to do in college.

  • Check your e-mail constantly.

  • Do your homework yourself.

  • If you need help, get a tutor—some are free, and the ones who charge are cheap.

  • Ask the TAs questions—that's why they are there.

  • Go to the professors’ office hours if you need one-on-one attention; even if a class is not in your intended major, take it if you've heard it's interesting.
