Are students very social? Is there an active social scene open to students? Does the school have a reputation as a party school? Posted by enotes on Aug 28, 2008. |

Yes, the students at the University of Michigan are very social. There are activities to suit any personality, from tons of cafés that are open late, to two movie theaters within walking distance, to various clubs such as Necto and Studio 4, to more house parties than can be counted on any given day of the week. People are very friendly and open, so it is always easy to find something to do. However, people here are also serious about school, so U of M isn't really considered a party school. There are also many social clubs, besides the fraternities and sororities on campus. These clubs provide activities for any student interested in joining. There are so many to choose from, from Ball Room Dancing Club, to The Solar Car Team, to Men's Glee Club, to political clubs, and many more. Many of these clubs put on social events throughout the year to get more students interested in joining them. One great way to find out what is going on is to check the big posters that are all around the school, on the big concrete cylinders, or in posters in the dorms.
