University of Michigan spirit pervades every inch of the Michigan campus. Few schools have more spirit, especially when it comes to big sports like football and hockey. If you become a Michigan student, you'll soon know the words to the fight song by heart. “The Victors,” (once declared “the greatest fight song every written”) by America's famous composer, John Phillip Sousa, is played continually at all Michigan sporting events.

The Michigan marching band is revered by all and widely considered to be among the best in the nation. Michigan students are not ashamed to wear their maize and blue proudly, and you'll often see many students wearing Michigan gear around campus.
