How is the housing situation both on and off-campus? Is it easy or difficult to find housing? Posted by enotes on Aug 28, 2008. |

Housing on campus is not difficult but not so easy. It is best if you prepare early and apply for housing early in time so you get a higher probability of getting the the one you want. On the contrary, finding housing off-campus is very easy. There are tons of different options for housing here at UF since this is mainly a college town. You will have no problem finding any types of housing you prefer. There are also many apartments that give you great freebies for renting from them such as a free scooter, plasma tv, first month rent free, discounts, and so much more. In reply to #1: Being a member of the "I applied for housing too late" didn't end up being as bad as I originally thought. Though living on campus is great for meeting people and being social, living off campus can accomplish the same goal. There are many buildings and apartment complexes that are just as social as the dorms. Not only that, but some off campus apartment complexes end up being closer to campus than some of the dorms. If you are considering which dorms to choose I would recommend Rawlings, Jennings, or Beatty (Beatty being the nicest), however do not disregard living off campus.
