What do you like most about this school? What do you like least?

What I like the most about the school is the academic environment, the people, and the spirit. The University of Florida is a top tier school in the nation and the best school in Florida. I always learn in my classes and I am always challenged, unlike some other colleges I have attended before where the teachers were slack and the classes were unchallenging. The classes you are required to take for your major are also very targeted and helpful in terms of directing you in the right path for your future career decisions and goals. The people in the university are always great too. Very lay-back and genuine, very socially diversed as well. As for the spirit, you cannot beat the Gators. As college sports lovers might already know of our back-to-back championships in basketball and football, we go all out supporting the Gators and you will see orange and blue everywhere in this town no matter which day of the week.

As for the dislikes, or what I like the least, is probably parking and the traffic police of UF. If you search the rankings of UF parking on eNotes, you will see that we have a D- score. Truthfully, it is pretty bad at times. UF parking lots are divided based on different colors instead of just student and faculty parking. It is very confusing as of who gets what color parking decals. most of the time, students get limited parking spaces and at busier times the lots are often full. Additionally, the traffic police here are the worst I have seen. They are everywhere and will pull you over without mercy. Due to the reason that this is a small college town, if you contest to court most likely they will show up and you will lose. So be warned, drive very carefully!

One more thing I wish the town, not UF, can improve or expand,  is the off-campus life. There is only one mall in Gainesville and they need to make more places for students to have fun other than movies and downtown parties. Of course, there are other activities from time to time but if Gainesville can expand the city more that will be another reason why I love UF. :)

The free gym is a definite plus for UF. The gyms and amenities within them would cost thousands of dollars a year otherwise. These gyms are open until 1 am on weekdays and 2 am on weekends giving students with a high demand load of school work time to work out even at night.

Another thing I like about UF is that it's a college town. THere are parties EVERY night. And when you get the munchies there is always some place that is open so you can chow down. However, the food ON-Campus is very questionable. I prefer eating off campus at all times.

Something that I do not like about UF is how hard it is to find a job after college undergraduate. They do not help you much and offer little guidance. Even though there is the career resource center there are only so many jobs that are offered. If UF can improve their relationship with higher up companies it would not only help the students out alot but also improve the image of the school.

There are a lot of big pluses at UF. I would say that my favorite aspect at UF is its large and influential Greek system. Being a member of a Fraternity or Sorority not only helps you meet people, but also gives you things to do consistently almost every night, from philantropies to socials and parties.

A big downside is the overprotective police force here at UF. There are almost a hundred officer zoned in an area less than seven square miles in range. Let's just say that UFPD really don't have much to do, considering there isn't much crime at UF (another big plus). Because of this, there are stringent parking regulations and bicycle laws. But then again, UF is one of the only campuses this size to allow freshman to bring cars (but have fun finding parking on campus).
