Tips to Succeed at UConn
Research your professors at either www.myprofessorsucks.com or www.ratemyprofessor.com.
Utilize the library.
Utilize WebCT, which is the online resource for all of your classes. Its usefulness varies from class to class, but can be accessed from the Web site students.uconn.edu.
Go to your professors’ office hours and participate in class. If they can pick your face out of a crowd, it will help you in the long run.
In the bigger classes, grading will be formulaic. Figure out what they want, and give it to them to the best of your ability.
Go. To. Class. It doesn't matter if you don't know what's going on. In giant lectures, it's very easy to get lost, and the professors aren't motivated to help you if you haven't attended. Professors won't reiterate the class lecture; they will only answer specific questions. Don't count on getting other people's notes too often or, as a rule, do so only in emergencies. The things you absorb in class and would write down are individual.
