    This depends on which college you are in. If you are in the College of Engineering, you are required to take Calculus 1, 2, or 3 (based on skill level), Chemistry, and Physics. In the college of Arts and Sciences (which is the most common) all freshman are required to take a "Freshman Writing Seminar" which is just a 1000 level writing class directed to the average writing level student. Other required classes for freshman also depend on which college you are enrolled in.
