What are the political and social leanings of most students and faculty? Is it easy to express opposing views?

The city of Boulder, (the University of Colorado especially) is home to one of the most "open-minded" societies in the country. Some would label it a hippie town, but really that just means that no matter what you believe, people are very accepting of all cultures and lifestyles, which brings the city to lean much more towards the liberal side of politics. This presents the opportunity for great discussion and debate in the classroom without much strife, no matter what you believe.
