What is the environment like off-campus? Do students venture off-campus frequently?

Boulder is a college town, so whether you're on campus or off, it's still college. On the western side of campus is "The Hill" where many students live off campus. Here there are dozens of restaurants and stores that are aimed particularly at CU students. The city is full of coffee shops and bookstores that are always welcoming to students as they venture out often into the city just to get away for a little while. Also, just about a mile from campus are the Flatirons. These are the giant rocks on the foothills of the Rocky Mountains where students frequently go to hike, camp, or just hang out. Boulder is the ideal location for students to experience college to the fullest.
