    George recounts his interaction with his cruel master, Mr. Harris. He is never able to please him, and he is bereft at the injustice he suffers.

    He becomes distraught over the situation, and finally, decides he must escape no matter what the risks. He wants to run away to Canada and buy freedom for Eliza and Harry. He is willing to die for this chance at freedom.
