    Chapter 13 of Uncle Tom's Cabin has a happy ending:  George and Eliza are reunited.  Eliza and Harry have been resting comfortably in the home of Simeon Halliday as they journey on toward freedom.  News soon arrives from a neighbor that more fugitive slaves will be joining them.  When Eliza hears that one of them is her husband, George, Eliza faints.  When she awakens, George is at her side!  It takes a while for George (and Eliza initially) to feel comfortable in this strange environment where they are suddenly treated with respect by white people; however, it isn’t long before they are swayed by the kindness of the Quakers.  They spend the rest of the chapter making plans to escape to Canada.
