   Brad is the teen with a secret. Tracy is the girl he confides in when he comes to Winfield. Gavin is Brad's stepfather. Tracy's mom is dead, but she still lives with her father. Then there are the Carvers, Gavin's sister and her husband. Tracy's aunt and uncle, Rene and Cory, also figure in the story. The surprise character is Brad's mother.
