The authors purpose was to write a book detailing romance between a character and another one.

The main characters are Edward and Bella.

Bella is a shy girl from A-Z.  Edward is a handsome mind-reading Vampire

The character is related to the novel because that's who the author wrote about.

Stephenie Meyer wrote Twilight after having a dream about a vampire and a human being in love. Her purpose in writing this novel was to write a gothic romantic love story about a human in love with a vampire. The story works so well because it can fit into the same vein as Romeo and Juliet -- passionate love, forbidden love, danger, sacrifice, and some action adventure thrown in for good measure. The main characters of Twilight are Bella and Edward. Bella is described as pretty, brunette, clumsy, intelligent, and very mature for her age. She is pretty thoroughly described in the first Twilight book. Bella is related to the novel in that it is centered around her experience, being in love with a vampire and all that that entails. The book is told from Bella's perspective, and as she unravels the truth the reader is able to find out along with her.
