Hmmm, experience shows that sequels are very rarely as well-received as the original work.  Expectation has a lot to do with that.  Then again, Harry Potter has broken that cardinal rule, hasn't he?  : )  As a literature teacher, I am interested in the book being told from a different perspective.  Although I am THRILLED that these novels are getting students to read, I am fairly convinced that they won't go into the literature books someday.  (Sorry if I burst anyone's bubble.)  I had an interesting argument with a friend my own age the other night.  (He liked the movie, and I thought it was "okay."  I was the only one who had read the book, which was better than the movie.)  We talked a lot about suspension of disbelief.  He argued that the movie was a wonderful representation of what he called "teenage angst."  I just laughed and said, "You want to see teenage angst?!?  Don't watch Twilight, watch Leonardo DiCaprio's Romeo and Juliet!!!"  We did.  He had to admit that I was right.  Anyway, the Twilight series is definitely an awesome representation of pop culture, . . . I'm just not convinced it will stand the test of time.

In reply to #1: I've read the first chapter of Midnight Sun and I love it so far. I think it's wonderful to see everything in Edward's perspective. He's the one who can read everyones mind so you get the gest of what everyone around him is thinking. An you can tell more of the struggle he has being around Bella, with desiring her blood. An you'll be able to understand his feelings on everything that they go threw and how it affects him.

I read the draft and it is so good that I think it will be better than Twilight. Its cool to see the story from Edwards point of view and to understand what he was thinking.

If you have read stephenie's draft and love it like i have, then it will be even better than the draft. becuase remeber, she said that this draft wasnt as good as the official story would be. So yes, i think that Midnight Sun will be Very much rewarding.
